About my ministry...

"To go on pilgrimage really means to step out of ourselves in order to encounter God where he has revealed himself." - Benedict XVI

I have been a parishioner at the Cathedral of St. Eugene in the Santa Rosa Diocese since I relocated here in 2014, after working all over the country with the US Forest Service, JPII Outdoor Lab, and other stints since finishing graduate school in forestry. Since moving to Santa Rosa, I became employed as a senior instructional assistant at Santa Rosa Junior College, and, as an avid live music fan, I have created a name for myself as a photographer in the Bay Area music scene through my photography project Urban Pilgrim Photography.

During Lent of 2017, Fr. Jeffrey Keyes asked me if I could photograph the Palm Sunday Mass in extraordinary form at the Cathedral and submit those photos to New Liturgical Movement for their photo post, which documents the beauty of the liturgy all over the world. He then asked me to do the same for Holy Week. Then I was asked by the Cathedral's Fatima Centennial committee to shoot the installation of the Our Lady of Fatima statue during the Cathedral's consecration Mass to Our Lady of Fatima for the North Coast Catholic diocesan newspaper. Most recently I had the honor of shooting Sr. Maria Faustina's final profession of vows at the request of Rev. Mother Teresa Christe of the Marian Sisters of Santa Rosa.

It has been a joy using my gifts and talents for my parish, the Diocese of Santa Rosa, and for Holy Mother Church. Now I want to extend my gifts and talents to the families of the diocese through documentary family photography sessions. Life is a pilgrimage, and I want to document it in photos! I seek to go to the core of reality's motion to document the rich experience of the human heart. Benedict XVI said, "To go on pilgrimage really means to step out of ourselves in order to encounter God where he has revealed himself." I believe that God reveals himself in our daily lives, in our families, in our work, in our circumstances, and specially in the Sacraments. In my documentary family photography, I want you to see how beautiful your life is; how God has revealed himself in you, your family, and your vocation.

After much prayer and discernment, I decided that I will donate a percentage of each session to the ministries of the Diocese of Santa Rosa. You name the ministry!
